When Alicia and Scott emailed me that they wanted to do a winter engagement session I was ecstatic! In Colorado, we have the most beautiful mountains and perfect winters. They are never too cold or overbearing but they are beautifully dusted with snow that you can ski, snowshoe, sled and play in. It is also so lovely to just curl up and enjoy the white dusted trees with your favorite person and a cup of hot cocoa. It is so dreamy.
After meeting Alicia and Scott in person, this idea for an engagement session when from 10 to 100 very quickly. They are so awesome. Sweet and funny and up for anything. When we got up to Sapphire Point overlooking Lake Dillon they were so happy for the beautiful day. They didn’t even say one thing about the cold. They just happily trekked to where we were going. Through the snow and into the woods. They stood on the side of mountains and scrambled rocks.
Then we headed into Breckenridge off near Peak 8 and found the most beautiful snow. Yes, lots of puffy billowing snow that sat thick on the trees. It was everything we dreamed of. They made snowballs and played a little and then we found the cutest tree in the forest and decided to decorate it a little. A small celebration of their love, their Christmas together and the beautiful night. It was as epic and wonderful as I thought it would be. Yes, even when I was knee deep in the snow and my hands were frozen. I could hang out there all day. I am so glad I get to photograph their wedding next fall!
