Alyssa and Jeremy’s wedding was a hit. It was so fun and full of life you could tell that everyone was having a great time. This was highly observed at the reception but the day started out the same way. Everyone was in a great mood having a good time. Alyssa was all smiles as I walked into Garden of the Gods Club to start the day. Her sister in laws and best friends were just hanging out on the couch like it was the most casual thing in the world. Meanwhile, the boys were in their room having drinks and laughs and giving Jo a good run for her money. These are fun people.
I knew that going into to it. Alyssa and Jeremy are my kind of people. They are kind-hearted, laid back, sarcastic, real, funny and enjoyable to be around. They are the kind of people that make you laugh with a subtly that is an art and they fit perfectly together. They both supply the perfect balance to the other. Much of the talk of the night was how easily these two fell into each other and worked. Lucky for Alyssa she gave J-date one more shot and had an instant connection with Jeremy. The rest is history.
My favorite part of the day is two sides of the same coin. When Alyssa put on her dress you could tell she felt like she owned the world. She was so excited to surprise Jeremy and start their forever together. It was totally worth it becuase when Jeremy saw her for the first time he gasped. I am pretty sure he said “you are so beautiful” between every other sentence. He went on to say it to me multiple times. He couldn’t believe he got to marry her. We, however, could all believe it. The way he makes her laugh and melt away. They each give the other something so special and adoring. You can’t help but see that and want to capture just a small piece to put in your pocket for a rainy day.
Garden of the God’s Club could not be a more perfect venue for the day either. The sun was shining in such a way that felt like God was spotlighting them. The views are majestic and unbelievable yet epic enough for a wedding and marriage like this.
It was so fun to see so many people come together. There are a few things about Jewish weddings that are so unique and lovely. The time where Alyssa and Jeremy signed the marriage license and Ketubah is high on my list. It is when the best of the best get to come together in one room and create the covenant between the two. Is is sweet and sentimental and deeply rooted in tradition. I love seeing all their family and friends gathered around the table to share in this unique moment. My second favorite is the 10 minutes of alone time they get after the ceremony. This is highly valuable. They just get to be together, married, and soak it all in. Weddings go so fast and there is so much going on, I love that they take a moment to celebrate together. Lastly, the Hora, oh the Hora dance. This is my favorite part because of the energy. The dance floor is packed. Nobody can move an inch and yet they manage to dance in circles around Alyssa and Jeremy ad they are held high in the air (no easy feat) by a group of strong boys. It is such a joyous dance to celebrate. It kicked off the night at Alyssa and Jeremy’s wedding but the bar kept getting raised. There were so many people who danced the night away, took in the views, enjoyed the drinks and themselves, and had a magnificent time. The best part, Alyssa and Jeremy said “I do” and started their forever.
I could not be happier for the two of them. I know they will keep celebrating their life together and with friends and family. Congratulations Alyssa and Jeremy!
