As I sat at the front of the aisle at Rockland Community Church waiting for Amy to walk down and watching Gitesh’s face in anticipation I could help but notice my cheeks hurt from smiling. I was so happy for them. I was so happy and in disbelief that I get to do this. I get to be a part of amazing people’s lives and see their stories.
Amy and Gitesh’s wedding started off with a bang on Friday at The Retreat at Solterra for their Sangeet. If you have never been to a Sangeet it is full of beautiful traditional Indian dresses, delicious food, drinks, toasts, henna and an epic dance party. It is one of the most fun parts of weddings. Everyone is clearly in high spirits ready to start off the weekend.
It was just the beginning to an amazing celebration. As the toasts reflected, everyone had already become family even though they are from all over the world. Everyone was laughing and talking and celebrating without reserve. Amy and Gitesh have been so excited for this day, like most people on their wedding day. The fun thing, however, that Amy kept telling me was “I am so happy today, but I have been so happy with Gitesh for years. This is just a celebration of that. I just keep thinking, I can’t believe this is my life.” Her statement summed up the day perfectly for me. You could see it when I met them, photographed their family, came to the Sangeet and now on their wedding day. They are meant to be together and have developed a very deep loving bond that both blows their mind and yet brings them back down to earth.
AJ and Erin, Amy’s kids were just as excited as everyone else that these two were getting married. They have already created a family with Gitesh. Ask anyone and they will say the feel so so lucky to have Gitesh in their lives. They know how unique and special he is and how much love he gives. His smile brightens all their lives and his heart reaches out so genuinely. It is only natural that he found Amy. A woman who is strong and kind and loves without reserve. I felt so loved by these two for just knowing them for a short time. The love they have for their friends and family is incredible and their love for each other will take this world by storm.
Needless to say it was a wonderful day. Adrienne and her team at The Gardner Effect put on a wonderful event. Evergreen Lake House was beautifully decorated and run to perfection. Working with vendors that are so good at what they do makes my job easy but more importantly makes it so Amy and Gitesh as well as their guests could focus all their attention on each other and the celebration.
Thanks to all the amazing vendors!
