If I could have my perfect day in Colorado it would be a fall day, with crisp air but bright Colorado sunshine that warms your face and skin. The smell of fall lingers in the air as sweet and earthy aspen leaves cover the ground. This way October 17th for sure. I could not have imagined a more beautiful day in Colorado. Then, you throw in two people who love each other so much that their excitement to marry each other bursts at the seems and you have magic. This was Claire and Juan’s wedding day and it was awesome!
It started out bustling, moving from place to place Juan was making sure everything was perfect. When he finally settled into making sure he looked perfect, his whole family joined in buttoning him up and putting on the Padilla shine. Meanwhile, Claire was upstairs in her room at Della Terra eagerly waiting to put on that dress that every girl dreams about wearing. As soon as she stepped into it there were “ooos and ahhs” and gasps around the room. I am pretty sure I saw tears and giggles at the exact same time. She was stunning. Here mom walked in and was so excited! I loved how she couldn’t help but burst out “I made this, look at how beautiful you are, I can’t believe I made you!”
Their whole wedding had an energy that can only be described as deep strong family roots and support. We would move from location to location and the wedding party would laugh and cheer. Juan’s brothers would just smile at me and say “this is why we are here. We are here for them and would do anything for them.” I couldn’t help but smile and have that warm fuzzy feeling. It sounds cheesy to say it out loud, but in all honesty that depth of family love is so incredible and important it just makes you blissful to watch it unfold.
The energy between the two of them shined more as they were supported by this love. You could tell when they held hands at their blind first look that the touch of each others hand would sustain them through a lifetime and beyond. During the ceremony at the beautiful Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, Juan said he was marrying his best friend and everyone swooned.
If that wasn’t enough, the party was one you never wanted to leave. Margie, Claire’s mom planned a surprise flash mod with the WHOLE wedding. It started with parents and grand parents, then aunts, uncles, cousins joined in, friends and family soon followed and it was finished by a dance off by the wedding party. Talk about epic! Juan and Claire were so excited to dance they tried to go out a couple times during the show, and when they finally got in on it everyone was around bursting with excitement and their best dance moves!
Oh it was a range of emotions, sweet and sentimental, simple and romantic, and a fun party like no other. I was so glad to be a part of their wedding! I know they are going to have an incredible life together.
