Emily and Matt have had a big year. They have been in med and nursing school, while planning a wedding, thinking about graduating and moving. They ended up graduating the day before they said I do. Emily from CU Medical School and Matt from CU Nursing School. These two are busy. But they fit so perfectly together like puzzle pieces and you can tell that through the last years together they have been building each other up and supporting each other. So much so that getting married was actually the easiest thing they have done.
This was reinterated throughout the day. They were both at ease and yet so excited. Emily and her girls shared a room at the Highland Haven. Getting pampered while drinking mimosa’s like all good bridesmaids do. Laura, Emily’s mom, was right by her side the whole day, smiling at here and encouraging her. All the girls were so sweet as well, including Matt’s mom and sister there to support a wonderful bride.
The boys were having their own fun at Evergreen Lake House. Emily’s brother George was helping Matt tie his tie while her brother Erik was making everyone laugh. You could tell that they were relaxed and ready to go.
My favorite part of the day was after the first look when Matt asked Emily if he could cry. Sorry, Matt, but it is WAY to sweet to not tell anyone. Every moment I spend with these two I just adore them more and more. Their love is so pure and light and perfect. They are everything the other needs and wants and they each gives 100%. Any couple would be so happy to have what they have. Everyone said it too. Throughout the day there was nothing but “perfect” thrown around and how excited they were that they found each other. Both sets of families expressed a love for their new son/daughter that was heartfelt and genuine and like they had been wishing for them for years and struck gold.
I loved being a part of this wedding. It was fun and relaxed and energetic and romantic and everything you want in a wedding. Matt and Emily were so happy throughout the day. Nothing bothered them. They even supported my crazy idea and knoodled in a canoe on the lake. *sigh* I am sure you are tired of me saying how dreaming and wonderful they are. I just can’t help it. I am just so so happy for them.
Matt and Emily, you will have an incredible life worthy of your big hearts and of each other. Congratulations for today and the many years to come!
