Kate and Travis invited me down to their house in Colorado Springs this weekend for their engagement session. Although, I grew up in the Springs, I don’t get down there to photograph couples that often, so it is always a treat when we have a wedding down there. More of a treat though, was that I got to see Kate and Travis’s new beautiful house, meet Ping their dog and hang out downtown with them.
Their house is amazing. It is a quant building on a quiet street with the coolest of neighbors. Kate and Travis say when they first were looking at the house the neighbors were “working” in the yard, which is code for checking out to see if Kate and Travis are cool. Turns out they made the cut and moved in this May! It was so fun to be able to take pictures of them hanging out on their front porch and cuddling in their back yard. Ping was a ham too. All she wanted was scratches and love.
Later we got to walk through the nearby campus at Colorado College and then head down to Poor Richards to read some books and mack in the stacks. These two are so natural together. They just cuddle and laugh and have easy conversations. They are also so sweet and willing to do anything. I loved strolling around and hearing about their lives and history together. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this fall at the Mining Exchange Hotel .
Thanks for spending the evening with me!
