The summer sun wasn’t thing only thing that was hot last Saturday in Austin, Texas. Lauren and James’ were even hotter and created an amazing wedding day in the heart of the city.
We started off at the Hilton with getting ready and as soon as she had put on her stunning dress and veil, which was a family heirloom, we headed out to take pictures. We explored the streets around the hotel and looked for shade every chance we got. Both for the better pictures and to avoid the Texas sun on an August day. After getting some great pictures of the girls and sending them off to the church, we focused on James and his groomsmen for a few shots.
The ceremony was held in the beautiful and historic Saint Mary Cathedral in the heart of Austin. The cathedral was built in 1872 and made for the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
After their ceremony we headed to the Texas Union building on the University of Texas campus where they had their ceremony in the grand Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom. Before the reception started we explored the area and had fun getting some great pictures of Lauren and James and their wedding party.
The dinner and reception won’t be soon forgotten between the great food, heart warming toasts and the full dance floor. Everybody was definitely having a great time! It was an honor to capture Lauren and James’ wedding day and a pleasure working with such great down-to-earth people. – McCory
