Lexe, Cody and I met up last week while they were in town for a quick visit. These two live in the cute town of Ogallala, Nebraska. I remember this cute town from five years ago when I first drove out to Colorado. The exit sign made me giggle, it may be my favorite town name of all time. Who knew that five years later I’d be photographing the cutest couple from that town?
I originally met with Lexe’s sweet mother on her behalf. With Lexe in nursing school and Cody being a full time farmer they’ve been planning their wedding from afar. When the day finally came for their engagement session I was eager to meet them. I watched the radar as snow and rain swept through Colorado. We stuck with our plans and made their engagement shoot happen, and I am so glad we did! From the moment I met these two I felt like I was hanging out with some of my best friends. The way these two were so relaxed, happy and playful together made my job so, so easy! Lexe and Cody happily snuggled in closely, told each other stories to get one another laughing, and really let me in on their love story.
There are a lot of times where I feel like my job shouldn’t be considered work – and this shoot was one of those times. I laughed so hard. I had tears in my eyes, and I left their engagement shoot wondering how soon I could ask them to be my best friends. I love so much about this couple. I love their simplicity. I love that they live on a farm, and that they are fixing up a home together. I love that they have so much fun together, and I love that I only have to wait two months and five days to see them again! -Allie
P.S. – Lexe and Cody, I had to include some of the funny bloopers of the day! Keep scrolling! 😉
