Lindsay and Ruben are just too cool. When I first met Lindsay and we sat and talked about their relationship, what they like to do for fun and some of their interests I was geeking out. Lindsay is beautiful and does pin-up modeling, Ruben is dashing with his unique style and is a professional drummer as well as has his own business. This is a power couple if I ever saw one. But event with me knowing how cool they are they are some of the most genuine, easy going people I have met. They make you feel at ease when you hang out with them. And based on their wedding and their wedding party and all the things said about them they pamper you as a friend too. This was apparent when Ruben brought in his barber to give hot shaves and hair cuts to all the guys as well as himself. Is that not the most fun?! Why shouldn’t the groom be pampered to look as sharp as possible on his wedding day. Plus the vibe and energy was awesome.
Meanwhile, Lindsay was getting pampered in her own way. The girls had all done the spa the day before and now they all had their hair set for their fingerwave curls and were getting perfect pinup makeup done. They were looking good. Her mom and sister were there as well as niece and soon to be new daughter Kamber. I think Kamber was the most excited out of everyone. She had the smile from ear to ear, totally ready to get into her dress and SPIN, oh could she spin. She was tearing up here and there looking at Lindsay and when she finally got the dress on and the hair done she wanted to do a reveal to Lindsay. It was so sweet. You could tell she was so ready for her dad to marry this amazing woman.
The day went off without a hitch. The ceremony was intimate in the soft light of the Brown Palace. The ring bearers carried hand painted signs and hand painted cymbals carrying their rings. These were just some of the personal touches Ruben and Lindsay had. They have a lot of artistic friends if you didn’t figure that out yet. The boys were so cute in their 40’s style hats and suspenders. They fit the wedding perfectly.
If that wasn’t enough the road in front of the Brown Palace was blocked off for Taste of Colorado so we had the whole block to ourselves. The city views there are gorgeous and the wedding party looked oh so chic inside and outside in the city. Lindsay and Ruben killed it as they laughed and he gently pushed her hair back and leaned in for a kiss. This move is any girls dream. Typically I teach my grooms this wonderful move (which they will use for the rest of their lives) Ruben just said “Oh yeah, I do that all the time.” They just fell together perfectly.
The night was as perfectly romantic as it should be with the gorgeous gold ballroom, the dinner and dancing and total old hollywood ambiance. My favorite part, however, was Kamber’s speech. She talked about how Lindsay has always been there for her any time she needed her or had a random question or thought. She talked so maturely about how hard it was for her dad to be a single father and what a great job he did. (Kamber is 10!!) She was so happy to have them come together and get married. We all cried and knew that this family was going to stick together through thick and thin. It was the perfect notes to a perfect day.
Thank you Ruben and Lindsay for letting me be a part of your day. I am so happy for you two and Kamber and all the wonderful memories you will make. Cheers!
Thanks to all the amazing vendors at the Brown Palace and beyond. You did a wonderful job!
