I knew from the moment after initially meeting with Lindsay and her Mom that her and Tom’s wedding would be beautiful and filled with emotion. I was right. You remember their great engagement session in Laramie a few months ago, right? They live in Wyoming and chose Estes Park because of Lindsay’s family connection there.
Lindsay’s family has a cabin just outside of Estes Park which has been in the family for generations. It’s nestled alongside a creek and that’s where we began the day with her and her ladies. Sheena and I could feel the history has we roamed the house and could imagine the generations of family vacations that have visited here before.
They tied the knot at Our Lady Of The Mountain Catholic Church and then we ventured into Rocky Mountain National Park to Lily Lake. This is where Lindsay has memories from summer camp as a girl. I loved knowing that their location for photos was personal to them.
The emotional part of the day came when Lindsay stood up during toasts back at Twin Owls Steakhouse. Her Mom is a cancer survivor and Lindsay wove and beautiful story speaking to all of her and Tom’s friends and family that helped them survive the tough times that cancer brought to the family. Not a dry eye in the house!
It’s moments like these that I collect and keep as memories of how incredible a job I have. I’m regularly welcomed to one of the more intimate times that a family experiences. These are the moments I live for. Thank you Lindsay and Tom for welcoming Sheena and I into your families! –Ryan
