Giving feels good! Some of you may know that for every wedding that we photograph, we make a donation to one of many great causes.Project Helping is one of those which speaks to my heart.
Project Helping uses the joy of purpose created by volunteering to improve mental wellness. Everyone struggles with their mental health from time to time. If you need a little help with your mental health, or you’ve been struggling for a while, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to volunteer.
I joined the Project Helping crew last night at Ekar Farm to where they were planting beans. “Ekar Farm is an urban farm dedicated to educating the community about sustainable agriculture practices and food justice, and donating fresh, healthy organic produce to local food banks.” Justin and Ashlee, the founders of Project Helping were there with their son, Jack. Jack was such a helpful and patient farmer! It was fun seeing the awe in his eyes while imagining how the beans in his hands would one day turn into food.
Check out the beautiful crops that are being farmed to help sustain our community! And check out Project Helping, they make it super easy to volunteer and give back. Let me know if you’re interested in a specific event and I’ll try joining you! –Ryan
