I’ll never grow tired of seeing of the moments like when Bo saw Sarah in her dress for the first time. The afternoon was perfect. Slight chill in the mountain air warmed over by the sun soaked aspen who were witnesses as well to their first look. I knew the day would be filled with emotion. From the time I spent with them last Fall at their engagement session at a nearby ranch, I loved the emotion that they exchanged. I cherished the tears in Bo’s eyes as he swelled with admiration of his lovely Sarah.
Their closest friends and family were along for the ride to at Deer Creek Valley Ranch. Family is important to them as Bo’s three kids all played a part in the day. During the ceremony, they all performed a special sand ceremony which wove them all together. When I learned that Sarah would be entering the ceremony with her girls in a classic stagecoach, I radiated with excitement with the possibilities. When Sheena and I saw the coach and horses in person, I exploded! Even the handler who guided the stagecoach looked like a character out of an old west flick.
Megan Lautenschlager helped design the day and allowed everything to run smoothly so we could focus on being present with these two lovely people. As Fall rapidly sweeps over the memories of sunny and beautifully wild Summer, I rest grateful to have clients like Sarah and Bo who gave me such a special day to photograph. Thank you! –Ryan
