One thing that is very important to McCory with owning a business is that he is able to consistently give back to his own community as well as communities around the world. He encourages his employees to do the same which has really instilled an environment where everyone appreciates what they have and the skills that they have to offer even more. As McCory sees it, the best way to do that is by offering his photographic talents to outreaches, ministries, and other organizations who would not be able to afford it. He believes that with that, it is important that he provides them with the same quality and service that he would give to a high-end client. Recently McCory did promotional photos for Street2Life whose slogan is “More than a Print Shop”. They serve “the street community of Denver who are striving to get off the streets by coming along side and offering community and the opportunity for employment with job skill training. The screen-printing business serves as a training site to put these skills to work. We also provide opportunity for spiritual growth through daily devotions in the print shop as well as a weekly Bible study and worship service” (street2life.com) The street2Life staff designs and sells clothing with original artwork and purposeful messages. “When purchasing through Street2Life Print Shop, not only are you receiving a high quality product, but you are partnering with us to provide employment and training for individuals desiring to come off the street. At no extra cost to you, you are investing in the lives of others and this ministry.” You can learn more about the ministry and find out how to buy their shirts or partner in another way on their website and by following them on Facebook.
It was such an honor to meet everyone who works so hard to make Street2Life happen and to see the creativity and talent that comes out of it. Check it out!
