Evergreen Lakehouse Wedding Photos in Evergreen, Colorado

The Evergreen Lakehouse is nestled in the foothills 40 minutes west of Denver, Colorado. The grand login cabin sits on the shores of Evergreen Lake and is next to the Evergreen Golf Course. Couples looking for a casual mountain setting for their wedding day will appreciate the beautiful scenery and quaint log cabin feel of the Lakehouse.

We recommend that the majority of hair and make up be done before getting to the Lakehouse due to its limitations for getting ready. The facilities for the wedding party to get ready in can be difficult for most bridal parties. The room where the ladies get ready in is narrow and has low light and is generally used for storage of tables and chairs. Not the most ideal backdrop for your photos. If necessary, the men generally use the Lakehouse bathroom to get ready.

The location for outdoor ceremonies is on the east deck of the lakehouse, which sits right on the lake and makes a perfect backdrop for ceremonies. Guests sit steps away from the water and have an open view onto the lake and surrounding mountains.

It is not uncommon for afternoon thunderstorms to come through Evergreen during the summer months. Most storms blow through in 20 minutes and cool off the hot day. A back up plan for having an indoor ceremony is always a good idea. Ceremonies indoors are just as nice. The oversized ceilings and windows fill the Great Room with light and the wooden log interior make for a great setting for your ceremony.

The grounds surrounding the Evergreen Lakehouse provide endless opportunities for portraits. The deck overlooking the lake is a great location for family portraits. The lawn just north of this deck is a great location for portraits with the couple and bridal party. Depending on the time of day, there is also a grassy area on the west side of the cabin that works well for wedding party or family photos. A wooden boardwalk north of the Lakehouse weaves through the picturesque marsh where you are surrounded by grassy reeds and water. It is a must to take the couple on this unique walk way for portraits. Check out some of our examples below.

The Great Room at the Lakehouse is where the reception takes place. The log cabin charm with wrought iron chandeliers and grand stone fireplace set the scene for the couple to make the space their own. The deck outside the Great Room is the perfect spot for cocktail hour and for candid portraits of guests. Photographers can take advantage of the large south facing windows for plenty of available light. In the evening, the chandeliers give a warm glow to the Great Room. Our knowledge and ability to take advantage of ambient light and fill flash will get the best results in this room.
