Lionsgate Event Center Wedding Photos in Lafayette, Colorado

The Lionsgate Event Center is located 30 minutes from Denver in Lafeyette, Colorado. The quaint country estate offers two locations for events; the Dove House and Gatehouse.

The original Gatehouse and barns were built in 1910 as a dairy farm. In 1993 the Jenkinson family purchased the property and began the renovation process to transform the space into a unique event facility.

The bridal suite of the Gatehouse is classically decorated which ornate wallpaper and tapestry. A grand canopy bed adds even more character to the room. South windows fill the room with soft warm light that make for perfect available light portraits.

Ceremonies for the Gatehouse are held on the west lawn. Guest chairs fill the large lawn while a sidewalk leads to the alter near a gazebo containing a water fall and well manicured topiaries. Large trees and the barn with a grain silo surround the ceremony sight.

Their are many opportunities for portraits with the wedding party and couple throughout the estate. In addition to the barn and silo there is an antique british phone booth that always makes for hilarious photos with the wedding party. The spaces are well lit throughout the property with hanging white lights that add to the ambience as the evening sky takes over.

The Gatehouse seats up to 350 guests in its high ceiling ballroom. The most unique piece is the spectacular 140-year-old 14’x12’ stained-glass window from France. It creates a dramatic backdrop to the head table. The ballroom offers plenty of space for tables and a dance floor without feeling cramped. The space lends itself well to having a dj/band add additional lighting during dancing.

Dove House--The spacious living room, sunroom, and dining room have elegant French and Oriental furniture, with art work and pianos adding to the ambiance. The dining room and large kitchen open onto a 1550 square-foot brick and flagstone solarium with a vaulted ceiling, oversized skylights, 20 windows, French doors, multiple patios, large dance floor and bar area with an antique stained-glass skylight and a lighted 1920’s art-deco bar. Adjoining this is a 1600 square-foot garden room with a vaulted ceiling, 23 windows, French doors and patios. Accent lighting throughout the entire house and grounds makes for a dramatic evening setting.
