Terrace Gardens at Ken Caryl in Littleton, Colorado |
|
Click to view more Terrace Gardens at Ken Caryl wedding photos Terrace Gardens is comprised of two locations in Littleton and in Centennial Colorado. Both the Ken Caryl and Dove Valley venues are run by Steve Langer and Ernie Oetter of Panache Catering. They are pioneers in the Denver wedding scene providing a stellar quality of service and experience at an affordable price. Their near 30 years of experience in catering promises that they have seen it all and can provide couples with a custom tailored experience for their wedding. This review will be split over two posts for simplicity. The following covers the Ken Caryl location. Terrace Gardens at Ken Caryl is perched atop Deer Creek Golf Course and nestled alongside the foothills of southwest Littleton, Colorado. This location opened in 2004 and has been blossoming ever since. Couples looking for an experience outside the city and do not want the drive into the mountains will appreciate the sprawling view of Denver's front range as a perfect location for their wedding. Similar to it's sister location in Dove Valley, Ken Caryl has facilities to host two separate functions at once. They have done a great job of balancing functionality and affordability with charming personality and service. Terrace Gardens has two outdoor locations for ceremonies. The Roxborough patio is on the southwest side of the property. Guests seated on the terrace are surrounded by gardens and Colorado spruce as they look on to couples exchanging vows. A trellis on the lawn in front of them frames the bridal party. Ceremonies held in the late afternoon will be bathed in strong directional light. It is important for the photographer to know how to compensate for the contrasting lighting environment. The north west Crestone patio offers views of the Dakota "Hogback" foothills. The grounds at Terrace Gardens offer plenty of opportunities for portraits with the bridal party. Photos are easily done on the ceremony lawn with the protruding foothills as a backdrop. On the east side of the building there is a decorative walking bridge that is surrounded by trees. This is a good location for photos with the couple and for smaller bridal parties. Terrace Gardens is not affiliated with the Deer Creek Golf Course. Because of this, it is recommended to check with staff on whether or not it is okay to venture below the gardens onto the golf course. Respect and discreetness for the golf course has always earned us the ability to briefly use the space. The foothills to the west of Terrace Gardens are dotted with power lines. It is important for the photographer to compose without them in the background or be willing to edit them out in post production. The reception halls are draped with generous windows that bathe the space in light in the afternoon. The exceptionally large ceilings contribute to the spacious feeling for a reception. Having a good DJ that knows how to fill the acoustics of the big space is advised. The Roxborough room has seating for up to 150 guests. The Crestone room has seating for 250 guests. The dance floors include plenty of space for everyone to get down to the music and not feel cramped. Our experience with the staff has always been pleasant. They are happy to accommodate guests needs and always ensure an awesome environment to celebrate!
